Here are a few things to know about your Fantasy Hockey Pools:

1. Expansion Draft: With the new Expansion team Las Vegas Knights entering the League many teams will be looking to unload some players who won't be able to get protected. Some may include Marc-Andre Fleury, Cody Ceci, or maybe even a guy like Marcus Johansson.

So what does this mean for your Fantasy Pool. Well basically you might want to avoid players who get picked in the Expansion Draft. Las Vegas isn't expected to be contenders out of the gate, while they will have a decent team most of their roster won't over achieve. This also means teams who get key players picked from their team will upgrade other players to fill their vacant roles, so take note of a guy like Andre Burakovsky.

2. High Picks: I say this every year, DO NOT waste your top picks on an superstar that will do just as good as others. Everyone wants to pick the superstar in Alexander Ovechkin or Steven Stamkos but there are other players available who are just as good in Fantasy. Never trade up, guys like Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson, Evgeni Malkin will be available at your Draft position.

I can't stress this enough, always be aware of what pick you have and who are picking, usually there is someone there who can fit your team.

3. Jonathan Drouin Trade: On Thursday the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning linked up to make a trade. The full deal is as follows:

Montreal Canadiens trade:

• Mikhail Sergachev

• Conditional 2nd Round Pick in 2018

Tampa Bay Lightning for:

• Jonathan Drouin

• Conditional 6th Round Pick in 2018

First off I think the Habs improved in the short term and it's great they added another lethal scorer. The Lightning got some cap space free'd up and a solid defensive prospect in Sergachev who will be a very good Top 4 or Top 2. Now what does this mean for Fantasy?

Well the Montreal Canadiens get a solid contributor up front. He's projected to play with Alex Galchenyuk since they have a history, and having Max Pacioretty or Alexander Radulov on the wing possibly. This will benefit the young winger tremendously. He generated 21 goals, and 32 assists for a total of 53 points last season. Impressive considering he's still only 22 years young and only getting better. When Radulov came over from Russia he was put into a position to succeed and that he did. Wouldn't be shocked of Drouin put up 70 points next season. People may pass on him in your draft so i'd take him with your 6th/7th pick at the earliest.

In terms of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Well they made room for some young guys to take his spot. We could possibly see Alex Killorn, or J.T Brown have an increased role on the team. These guys are waiver wire picks, but a guy like Ondrej Palat could have an increased Fantasy Value.

4. Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn: These guys were one the top players in the NHL not to long ago. In 2015-2016, they both were amongst the top point producers. They were in the likes of the great duo's, Jonathan Toews & Patrick Kane and Sidney Crosby & Evgeni Malkin. While they slowed down this past season don't forget about them like most people will. Take the chance and i'm sure the results will work in your favor.

5. Matt Murray: This guy will be the main goalie in the net next season. He will get the majority of the starts and the Pittsburgh Penguins don't seem as if they will get hit too hard by the Expansion Draft so they will still be the powerhouse they are.
