Don't lose your JuJu, Jobu might take it this week

Viewership is down in the NFL this year. Most people believe it is directly related to the players protests during the national anthem. I’m not touching this subject with a ten foot pole. I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe. Good for me and good for you! Let's talk some fantasy football.

If you’ve read anything I’ve written in the last two weeks, you know that I have mentioned Matthew Berry’s Love/Hate column for ESPN and his personal connection to his health and life. Fantasy football is a game, but for some it is a way of life. I have zero interest in watching a Browns/Vikings game at 9:30am when I’m at work until the 3:00 am the night before. I am however interested to see how Diggs, Mckinnon and Thielen play because I have them on my fantasy team. Fantasy football has given me a reason to care about following football other than Denver Broncos games. It gives me a reason to tune in Thursday and Monday nights. Fantasy football has opened more people up to more of the sport. I feel fantasy does this for football more than any other sport. I’m not tuning in to watch an OKC game to see what Westbrook is doing. I’m not tuning into a Lakers game to see the Lonzo Ball/Lavar Ball side show. I’m all Cavs all day.

Fantasy football brings people together. I am in three different leagues with mostly all different players. On Sundays I’m watching games with different people each week. I have 10-15 different text conversations going with people I may not ever talk to outside of fantasy days. I have twitter followers asking me questions. They only follow me on football days. Most followers don’t care about my tweets to raise money for Heart disease, or my 5k to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. It’s fantasy football. Typically, I’m not the one you’re looking to first. You probably would never have heard of me if IBN didn’t RT my stories. I put in the same work as the ESPN and NFL network guys. There are many outlets for fantasy advice these days. Thank you for reading me. Thank you for interacting with me. Thank you for asking me questions. I will always be there to answer. Any follower who has tweeted me knows that I will answer, usually in a timely fashion. Please remember, this is fantasy, no one can see the future(however my good friend Matt is from the future) and *you* ultimately hit submit on your team. You make the final decision. I just hope to have helped you make that decision. Thanks for reading.

Each week so far I have streamed a DST. For the most part, it has worked out great. I choose a team owned in less than 50% of leagues in ESPN leagues and roll with it. Last week was another solid week with the Cowboys ranking #4 overall. This week I’m going with the Buffalo Bills. Oakland is in a desperate need of a win and traveling to the east coast for an early game usually spells doom for a west coast team. Oakland came into the season with what was thought to be a high powered offense with a pro-bowl QB, two solid WR’s and the addition of Beast Mode. They are far from it. I think Buffalo can rush the passer and stop the run, making Derek Carr beat them. Carr could very well destroy Buffalo, but I’m betting on the Bills DST and Lesean McCoy to play clock management to keep Oakland’s offense off the field. Ball control and limiting mistakes wins Buffalo this game. Look for low scoring and possibly 1 turnover for the Bills DST. Oakland is without Marshawn Lynch this week.
