Justify's Shot To Become An Immortale

For starters let look back at Justify's Preakness. I thought the Preakness was Justify's toughest race. He really had to work for it. Good Magic took it to him and he had to put him away and still have enough to hold off late charges from Bravazo and Tenfold. At some point you would figure everything is going to catch up to Justify. Is he really going to go from unraced to a 6 for 6 undefeated Triple Crown champion in 16 weeks? Winning 6 races in 4 different states, breaking the Apollo Curse, running on dry tracks, wet tracks, thick fog, etc. He has done so much in such a short amount of time and its unbelievable. If he pulls this off he is a true champion and an all time horse.

As far as the Belmont goes, Justify will break from post one which really isnt a big deal like it is in ther Kentucky Derby. Ideally im sure he would of wanted to bbe out wider and be able to sit right outside of the pace. I think with the one post he should try to carve out the trip American Pharoah had and break well annd head right to the clubhouse turn looking for the lead. If another horse goes crazy and wants the lead that bad it should stretch out the field and gicce Mike Smith options at that point. If Justify can grab the lead and just start galloping while clicking off quarter miles he could run his competition into the ground. That probably is his best path to victory based on where he is breaking from. I was very confident in American Pharoah winniong the Belmont and I just can't say I have the same level of confidence in Justify. However, im not saying he can't or won't win it. Hes going to have to be an all time great horse to accomplish this. Is he an all time great horse? We are about to find out. As far as his competition, breaking to his inside in post 2 is Free Drop Billy whop really hasn't been that fast of a horse but his pedigree is probabaly the best for the distance out of all the horses in this race. Bravazo in post 3 ran a really good Preakness and a sneaky good Derby, he closed hard toward the end of the Preakness but keep in mind at the longer distance the closing kick won't be as strong. The 4 horse is Bravazo who is likely to be the second choice, he's the 'wise guy' horse in tis race and likely second choice. His running style and breeding should fair well in this race after a tough trip in the Kentucky Derby. Restoring Hope is another Baffert horse breaking from post 5 and I can't see Baffert ruining his own Triple Crown. The 6 is Gronkowski who is a European horse that usually fair better at distances but it's hard to find a path for him winning but at the same time its Belmont so nothing shocks me. The 7 horse is Tenfold who is improving a lot and a horse I really like, I included him in my Preakness trifecta and he came in big for me as I cashed a nice $15 tri that paid over $2100 so I have a soft spot for the horse and will include him again. Todd Pletcher brings the 8 Vino Rosso who should love the added distance and maybe had the worst trip in the Derby. I liked him in the derby but he took so much kick back they were picking dirt out of his throat for days. The 9 Noble Indy could be a longshot in the same fashion as Da'Tara in 2008 when he spoiled Big Browns run for glory. However, he would of benefited from more of an inside post. The 10 Blended Citizen is another horse on the improve that I can see being a factor.

Betting Belmont

Betting the Belmont is always a crap shoot so I never really go to heavy on it. But it's the Belmont so you have to cautiously make a few bets. If Justify don't win I dont see him falling out of the money so Ill bet it that way and do the following.

Trifecta - placing all 4 of these trifecta bets for .50 cents will cost $64

Justify w/ Bravazo, Hofburg, Tenfold, Vino Rosso w/ ALL

Justify w/ ALL w/ Bravazo, Hofburg, Tenfold, Vino Rosso

Bravazo, Hofburg, Tenfold, Vino Rosso w/ Justify w ALL

ALL w/ Bravazo, Hofburg, Tenfold, Vino Rosso w/ Justify

$10 Win Tenfold

$1 Pick 3 (Starts in Race 9) = $20

1,2,4,5 w/ 1,2,3,4,10 w/ 1

Good luck to all and go Justify. Bring it home!
