Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

Vegas Lines:

Line: KC -3.5 (-110)

Total : O/U 54.5 (-105)

Key Trends

The Texans are 3-11 SU in their last 14 games as an underdog.

The total has gone UNDER in 12 of the Chiefs’ last 17 games at home.

The Chiefs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games at home after failing to cover in their most recent home game.

Texans News & Notes

The Texans’ investments in improving their offensive line are starting to pay dividends. Often-battered quarterback Deshaun Watson was barely touched last week by the Atlanta Falcons, and the payoff was a 426-yard, five-touchdown performance in a 53-32 Houston victory.

The new-look O-line also opened up plenty of holes for the running game, which not only generated 166 rushing yards but also kept the Falcons guessing. “That’s going to open up a lot of things in the pass game,” said Texans receiver Will Fuller, who benefited from several play-action calls on his way to a 217-yard, three-touchdown outing.

  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Houston's last 7 games.
  • Houston are 14-5 SU in their last 19 games.
  • Houston are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games against Kansas City.
  • Houston are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games against Kansas City.

Chiefs News & Notes

How quickly things can turn around in the National Football League! One week after gunning for what would have been a league-record 23rd straight game scoring at least 26 points, the Chiefs offense is suddenly under fire after being grounded in a 19-13 home loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

KC’s biggest issue right now may simply be the injury bug. Mahomes hurt his ankle early in Sunday’s contest, then had it stepped on by a teammate later in the game and favored it throughout the second half.

He’s almost certain to play against Houston, but the same can’t be said of receiver Sammy Watkins, who left last week’s game early with a hamstring injury. Kansas City’s also got plenty of injury concerns on defense, where linemen Chris Jones (groin) and Xavier Williams (ankle) were both forced out of action against Indianapolis.

  • The total has gone OVER in 9 of Kansas City's last 13 games.
  • Kansas City are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games.
  • Kansas City are 12-4 SU in their last 16 games at home.
  • Kansas City are 14-4 SU in their last 18 games against an opponent in the AFC conference.

San Francisco 49ers @ Los Angeles Rams

Vegas Lines:

Line: LAR -3 (-115)

Total : O/U 50.5 (-108)

Key Trends

San Francisco is 6-26 SU in its last 32 games as a road underdog.

Los Angeles is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games in the late afternoon.

The total has gone OVER in eight of San Francisco’s last 11 games on the road in October.

49ers News & Notes

The 49ers improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1990 with their 31-3 home win over the Cleveland Browns on Monday night. San Francisco has been clicking on both sides of the ball, averaging 31.8 points per game on offense while allowing less than half that on defense at only 14.3 points per game. Kyle Shanahan has done a good job of mixing in the run on offense as the 49ers rank best in the league in rushing this season with 200 rushing yards per game.

San Francisco is 2-11 SU in its last 13 games against NFC West rivals and is 1-5 ATS in its last six games over that stretch. The 49ers have been an underdog twice before this season and are 2-0 SU and ATS over those two games.

  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of San Francisco's last 6 games.
  • San Francisco are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games.
  • San Francisco are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against LA Rams.
  • San Francisco are 2-8 SU in their last 10 games on the road.

Rams News & Notes

Since opening the season with a 3-0 SU and ATS start, the Rams have lost their last two games. Los Angeles is at its best when the team is running the ball well and playing excellent defense. The Rams have done neither of those things over the last two weeks, allowing 42.5 points per game and rushing for only 55 yards per game in back-to-back losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks.

Los Angeles is 6-1 SU and ATS in its last seven games as a betting favorite. The Rams also enter this rivalry game against the 49ers with a 6-1 SU record in their last seven games against NFC West foes.

  • LA Rams are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games.
  • LA Rams are 14-6 SU in their last 20 games.
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of LA Rams' last 5 games against San Francisco.
  • LA Rams are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games at home.

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets

Vegas Lines:

Line: DAL -7 (-110)

Total : O/U 43.5 (-110)

Key Trends

Dallas is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 October road games.

Dallas is 5-2 SU in the past 7 road meetings with New York.

New York is 0-7 SU and 0-6-1 ATS in its last 7 home games.

Cowboys News & Notes

It is not shocking to see the Cowboys at 3-2 right now, but it is somewhat surprising when you consider how they got to this point. They beat up the New York Giants, Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins in the first three weeks, and those teams have a combined record of 2-12.

Then they followed that up by losing to the New Orleans Saints 12-10 as 2.5-point road favorites in Week 4 and falling to the Green Bay Packers 34-24 as 3.5-point home chalk last Sunday. The two losses could not be much different, with the defense keeping them in the game at New Orleans before getting shellacked by Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay at home. The good news is that the other New York team also probably will struggle offensively.

  • The total has gone OVER in 6 of Dallas' last 8 games.
  • Dallas are 11-4 SU in their last 15 games.
  • Dallas are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games against NY Jets.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 11 of Dallas' last 15 games on the road.

Jets News & Notes

Without Darnold, the Jets’ offensive unit scored only one touchdown through the first four games. While they have scored three defensive touchdowns, that still has not helped the team total more than 16 points yet overall.

New York has scored 23 in the last three combined, and 14 of those points came against the unbeaten New England Patriots on a fumble return touchdown and interception return touchdown after the Jets were trailing 30-0 near the end of the third quarter. The Jets host the Patriots again next week, so they need to be careful not to look ahead to that divisional game.

  • NY Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of NY Jets' last 5 games.
  • NY Jets are 0-7 SU in their last 7 games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of NY Jets' last 7 games against Dallas.
