New Orleans Saints vs Tennessee Titans
Line: NO -3 (-107)
Total: 49 (-108)
The Saints are 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as road favorites.
The Titans are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as home underdogs.
The total has gone UNDER in 10 of the Saints’ last 12 games on the road in December.
New Orleans News & Notes
Drew Brees passed Peyton Manning for the most regular-season touchdown passes of all time on Monday night, coincidentally enough against Manning’s old team in a 34-7 blowout of the Indianapolis Colts. Brees went 29-of-30 for 307 yards and four touchdowns, bringing his season total to 21 touchdown passes in nine games and his career total to 541.
With the win, the Saints improved to 11-3 SU and 9-5 ATS on the year. New Orleans has already clinched the NFC South, but with Green Bay, Seattle and San Francisco all sitting at 11-3 in the standings as well, the Saints still have work to do if they hope to lock up a first-round bye. The Saints come into Sunday with an 18-4 SU record in their last 22 games played in the early afternoon.
New Orleans are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games.
New Orleans are 10-2 SU in their last 12 games.
New Orleans are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games against Tennessee.
New Orleans are 1-5 SU in their last 6 games against Tennessee.
Tennessee News & Notes
Tennessee’s playoff chances took a hit last Sunday when the team suffered a 24-21 loss at home to the Houston Texans. The Titans are 6-2 SU and ATS since Ryan Tannehill took over as the team’s starting quarterback, but the 2-4 SU and ATS hole they were in before that doesn’t leave Tennessee much room for error in the race for the AFC South title or an AFC wild-card spot.
Since 2018, the Titans are 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against NFC opponents. Tennessee has also historically fared well against the Saints with a 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS record in the last six games of this head-to-head series.
Tennessee are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
The total has gone OVER in 7 of Tennessee's last 8 games.
Tennessee are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games.
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Tennessee's last 5 games at home.
Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles
Line: DAL -2.5 (-110)
Total: 46 (-110)
The total has gone OVER in 7 of the Cowboys’ last 8 division games.
The Eagles are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games as home underdogs.
The Cowboys are 6-1 ATS and SU in their last 7 games on the road vs the Eagles.
Dallas News & Notes
With their grip on the NFC East slipping away and calls mounting for the firing of longtime coach Jason Garrett, the Cowboys responded last week with their most dominant effort of the season.
Dallas snapped a three-game losing streak with a 44-21 whipping of the visiting Rams, carrying a 31-7 lead into the fourth quarter before a pair of late LA touchdowns made the score more respectable. The most telling stats came on the ground, where the Cowboys ran for a season-high 263 rushing yards while holding the Rams to just 22.
Dallas may need to continue to lean on that running game this week. Quarterback Dak Prescott, second in the NFL in passing yards this season, is reportedly dealing with a hairline fracture on the index finger of his throwing hand.
The Cowboys’ linebacker corps is also banged up going into Philly, with rookie Luke Gifford (broken arm) and veteran Joe Thomas (knee) joining Leighton Vander Esch (neck) in the infirmary last week. Sean Lee continues to be hampered by pectoral and thigh ailments that recently kept him out of practice, but the veteran still managed to come up with a sack and a key interception against the Rams.
The total has gone OVER in 5 of Dallas' last 7 games.
Dallas are 2-4 SU in their last 6 games.
Dallas are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against Philadelphia.
Dallas are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games against Philadelphia.
Philadelphia News & Notes
There’s been nothing pretty about the Eagles lately, but they’re still finding a way to get the job done. A week after storming back from a 17-3 halftime deficit to beat the Giants in overtime, Philadelphia trailed most of last Sunday’s game in Washington before scoring the winning touchdown with 26 seconds left in the fourth quarter. (The Eagles added a fumble return TD on the last play of the game, handing Redskins +7 bettors a horrible beat.)
Over his last three games, Carson Wentz has thrown eight touchdowns and just one interception — incredible numbers when you consider who he’s throwing the ball to. Practice squad player Greg Ward was the only wide receiver to catch a pass last week as the Eagles continue to play without top wideouts DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor. Jackson and Jeffery are out for the year, but Agholor could potentially return this week. Without threats on the outside, Wentz relied heavily on rookie Miles Sanders, who had 172 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns against Washington.
Philadelphia are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Philadelphia's last 6 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Philadelphia's last 6 games against Dallas.
The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Philadelphia's last 5 games at home.
Kansas City Chiefs vs Chicago Bears
-6.5 -108 KC
44.5 -108
The Chiefs are 6-1 SU in their last 7 road games.
The Bears are 11-2-1 ATS in their last 14 games as home dogs.
The Chiefs are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 December games.
Kansas City News & Notes
Since losing 35-32 at Tennessee last month, the Chiefs are 4-0 SU and ATS. However, as pundits continue to wax poetic about Patrick Mahomes’ greatness, the K.C. defense deserves most of the credit. During the four-game win streak, the Chiefs have allowed just 11.25 points per game. Check out their most recent three-game splits when stacked up against their season-to-date defensive averages:
As you can see, a healthier Chiefs defense has vastly improved over the last month compared to the season-to-date resume. With all the positivity comes a piece of bad news. Kansas City thinks pass rusher Alex Okafor tore his pec in the win over the Broncos. If that’s true, he’d miss the rest of the season. But reinforcements may be on the way...
Other names on the Week 16 injury report and tagged questionable are cornerbacks Morris Claiborne (shoulder) and Rashad Fenton (hamstring) and running back Damien Williams, who is dealing with a rib injury. The running back is expected to return against the Bears, however.
Kansas City are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Kansas City's last 5 games.
Kansas City are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games.
Kansas City are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games on the road.
Chicago News & Notes
Although the Bears are all but mathematically out of playoff contention at 7-7, head coach Matt Nagy made a lot of fantasy football owners happy when he said the plan is to play their starters the final two weeks of the season.
Before the loss to the Packers, Chicago had won three straight and four of its past five. However, that “hot” stretch comes with a Windy City-sized asterisk. The Bears beat the 3-10-1 Lions twice, the 3-11 Giants and the 7-7 Cowboys at Soldier Field. Plus, the two wins over Detroit by a combined 11 points came against the Lions’ second- and third-string quarterbacks, while New York made things interesting late in a 19-14 loss. In other words, yes, the Bears played better during that four-game stretch, but may have reminded us what they truly are in a 21-13 loss to the Packers, which is an above-average defense with a sub-optimal offense that lacks efficiency.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are still in the mix for the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
On the injury front, the Bears added a defensive tackle but lost a linebacker last week. Akiem Hicks posted four tackles and two hits on the quarterback in his first game back. He should also contribute to clogging the run the next two weeks. Chicago did lose LB Roquan Smith for the season to a torn pec and Danny Trevathan is questionable with that gnarly elbow injury. Receiver Taylor Gabriel and tight end Ben Braunecker are questionable with concussions. Tackle Bobby Massie is “Q” with an ankle and defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris “Q” with a foot injury. It’s definitely Week 16, folks!
Chicago are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Chicago's last 8 games.
Chicago are 4-2 SU in their last 6 games.
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Chicago's last 6 games against Kansas City.
