San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles

1:00 PM

SF -3 (-108)

O/U  49 (-108)

San Francisco is 13-5 SU in its last 18 road games.

Philadelphia is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 home games.

The UNDER is 8-3 in Philadelphia’s last 11 games.

49ers News & Notes

On the bright side, the 49ers came out of Week 1 with a 41-33 win over the Detroit Lions. But the win came with some baggage as Raheem Mostert injured his knee and cornerback Jason Verrett was lost for the season with an ACL injury. San Francisco’s thin secondary could not afford an injury like this to a player of Verrett’s caliber, as was indicated by the Lions erasing the 49ers’ 28-point lead and coming within 24 yards of a potential game-tying touchdown.

One of the bright spots in the win was rookie running back Elijah Mitchell, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in relief of Mostert. Daily fantasy sports players and prop bettors looking for an undervalued running back in Week 2 might consider giving Mitchell a look against the Eagles.

San Francisco are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.

The total has gone OVER in 4 of San Francisco's last 6 games.

San Francisco are 3-7 SU in their last 10 games.

San Francisco are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games against Philadelphia.

Eagles News & Notes

The Jalen Hurts era in Philadelphia couldn’t have gotten off to a much better start. Hurts was fantastic in his first start of 2021, going 27-for-35 with 264 passing yards, 62 rushing yards, three passing touchdowns and no interceptions. The 23-year-old spread the ball around well with seven different receivers catching at least two passes and three different receivers catching touchdown passes.

And no one could have seen this defensive performance coming. The Eagles allowed 363.1 total yards and 26.1 points per game last season and are expected to be a work-in-progress this season, but this group held the Atlanta Falcons to just 260 total yards and six points in the Eagles’ 32-6 win as 4.5-point underdogs last week.

San Francisco offers a significant step up in competition from Atlanta, so we’ll soon get a better idea of how good this Eagles team really is.

The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Philadelphia's last 11 games.

Philadelphia are 2-7 SU in their last 9 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Philadelphia's last 6 games against San Francisco.

Philadelphia are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games at home.

Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles Chargers

4:25 PM

LAC -3 (-109)

O/U 55 (-109)

Dallas is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 road games.

Los Angeles is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last 5 games.

The OVER is 6-2 in Dallas’ last 8 games.

Cowboys News & Notes

Despite their 31-29 loss to the Bucs, Cowboys fans had to be encouraged by Dak Prescott’s performance in the season opener. Dak threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns, showing no signs of the devastating ankle injury that ended his season early last year. Dallas aired it out a whopping 58 times and resembled the offense that had more than 2,000 passing yards through its first five games in 2020.

Prescott will be without one of his top targets this week, however, as Michael Gallup is expected to miss at least three weeks with a left calf strain suffered against Tampa Bay. That could make Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb even more valuable in fantasy lineups, although Cedrick Wilson could also have some value as Dallas’ third receiver.

Dallas may also be a bit thin on both the offensive and defensive lines, even with All-Pro guard Zack Martin returning from the COVID-19 reserve list. Right tackle La’el Collins will serve the first game of a five-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, while defensive end Randy Gregory was placed on the COVID list and needs two negative tests this week to be cleared to face the Chargers.

Dallas are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.

The total has gone OVER in 6 of Dallas' last 8 games.

Dallas are 5-10 SU in their last 15 games.

Dallas are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against LA Chargers.

Chargers News & Notes

A lot looked different about the Chargers last week in head coach Brandon Staley’s debut. Not only did they win a tight game — out of character for a squad that was 7-16 SU in one-score games the last two years under Anthony Lynn —  but they also spread the ball around more on offense. Justin Herbert targeted nine different receivers in the 20-16 win over Washington, and five players had at least three catches.

Surprisingly, one of the players who went without a target was running back Austin Ekeler, who was a huge part of LA’s passing game last year. Receiver Mike Williams now appears to be Herbert’s favorite weapon after catching a career-high eight balls on 12 targets, making him a great fantasy candidate if you’re in a points-per-reception league.

Last week’s win built on the momentum LA had at the end of 2020, when the Chargers closed with a 4-0 SU and ATS surge. However, they’ve struggled to deliver for their backers recently when laying points at home, going 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 as home favorites.

LA Chargers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of LA Chargers' last 7 games.

LA Chargers are 5-0 SU in their last 5 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 10 of LA Chargers' last 14 games at home.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens

8:25 PM

KC -3.5 (-108)

O/U 54 (-109)

Kansas City is 10-1 SU in its last 11 road games.

Baltimore is 7-2 ATS in its last 9 games.

The OVER is 4-1 in Baltimore’s last 5 home games.

Chiefs News & Notes

Kansas City’s offense has often been compared to one you might see in a video game, and that’s what it looked like in last Sunday’s 33-29 win against the Cleveland Browns. Patrick Mahomes went 27-for-36 with 337 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, targeting Tyreek Hill or Travis Kelce on 22 of those 36 pass attempts. Hill caught 11 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown and Kelce had six catches for 76 yards and two scores.

On the one hand, the Chiefs want to do a better job of spreading the ball around and being less predictable on offense. On the other hand, if it isn’t broke, why fix it? Hill and Kelce have been dominant forces in Kansas City’s offense with Mahomes under center and that isn’t likely to change any time soon. Kansas City trailed 22-10 at the half, but no lead is safe against this group.

Kansas City are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games.

Kansas City are 13-2 SU in their last 15 games.

Kansas City are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against Baltimore.

Kansas City are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games against Baltimore.

Ravens News & Notes

The Ravens were a part of a wild one on Monday night against the Las Vegas Raiders. Baltimore never trailed until allowing the game-deciding touchdown in overtime, capping off a crazy sequence in which the Ravens made a successful goal-line stand with an interception only to lose the ball moments later on a sack-fumble. That allowed the Raiders to cash in on a touchdown pass to win the game 33-27.

Baltimore’s defense allowed 435 passing yards in the loss, including 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown by Raiders tight end Darren Waller. This defensive performance didn’t spark a lot of confidence ahead of a meeting with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, the best tight end in the league. Last season, the Ravens ranked sixth-best in the NFL in passing defense, allowing only 221 passing yards per game.

Baltimore are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games.

The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Baltimore's last 5 games.

Baltimore are 6-2 SU in their last 8 games.

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Baltimore's last 5 games at home.
